What is the point to ToPK
Ok, Im not an oldtimer.. I am just now getting around to trying some of the areas I had no need of before.
So, today I cleared ToPK. It's overall a decently done dungeon, but, what is the point.
Chest loots were garbage.. bad garbage. Drops were worse, and most not even max damage. Bosses dropped the same garbage.. whites and terrible blues.
So.. the reward is a few seconds of fireworks and some happy ghosts?
Is this a grind instance that you have to run 40 times for a chance at some fairly useless Proph green? Ugh.. no thanks if it is.

It defenatly needs rework done, as for now it takes <30 min to clear it HM, and its not eaven fun trying to make builds for it anymore.

When it was made, green weapons were a new and desirable thing, and we didn't have any inscription system, which made getting max weapons on nice skins much harder. Plus when you were locked out of UW/FoW by favor there was literally nothing to do but this and sorrow's furnace, and this place could drop ecto at least. Basically useless now, but it had it's heyday.

Used to be go to weapon spot when greens could be sold for +e, (Tanzit's amirite?)
Then it slowly faded to a bot-ecto farming spot.
Now it's just a space waster

The green's used to be very valuable when it 1st came out, but that was back when sorrow's furnace greens still held value as well. the difficulty has dramatically decreased over time as all things have with the introduction of the newer campaigns/expansion. Power creep of skills and what not.
Lastly, it used to be where you would go to fight toward the Hall of Heroes. The dungeon was put in place when HoH moved to HA.
in short, it used to be mildly challenging, but not anymore as you have found out.

it used to be a place for HA when it was PvE only characters... then a few months after they added fame, balth faction, and made it accessible to pvp players... they turned it into the 2nd elite area that drops green items...

I soloed it not long ago with SOS (that is, I had heroes, but they were parked away almost all the time)
I got an ecto and no less than 8 greens in the same run. But, as said already, the greens are low value, I was happy to sell all 8 for 10k. In old days it was fun and rewarding to farm it with b/p teams, I earned my FOW armor by selling tombs greenies
I agree, it most definitely needs a rework.

It was until very very recently an alternative to uw farming for ecto. "Ledge farming" was done on the first level taking no more than two mins with a chance for ecto per run. This was heavily botted and has hence been changed so that the groups no longer appear on the first level.
The only real reason people do ToPK now is Nostalgia. Some ofcourse want the greens (the Ogre Slaying Knife) they aren't particularly good but collectors are collectors :P.

When it was introduced to the game, it was a hard area to farm, you didnt have all the gimmick builds you have today, you want it to be a challenge try and complete it only using skills from Tyria.
Its also been drop nerfed so many times because of bots etc running it, i think the most recent update removed all the enemies that could drop ecto in there.
